What to include in a 3D design request
Describe what the part should do, its dimensions, how it fits other objects and any material or quantity requirements. Reference photos, sketches and existing models help Y3DM understand your project. Include your target date for review.
CAD design, scanning and reverse engineering
For an existing object, tell us its size and whether you need a replica, a modified part or a new model that fits it. Scanning and reverse engineering requirements are reviewed individually. Contact Y3DM before sending physical objects.
Do I need a finished 3D model to request help?
No. Describe your idea and provide a sketch or reference image if you have one. Y3DM reviews the scope before agreeing on the design work.
Which files can I send with my project?
The design forms accept STL, OBJ, 3MF, STEP, STP, ZIP, PDF, PNG and JPG files up to 95 MB. A ZIP can hold multiple references. Files are submitted privately for project review.
Can I request a quote after my model is ready?
Yes. For a printable STL or OBJ, use the instant 3D printing quote. For quantities, special tolerances or recurring production, discuss a wholesale order.
